!!!LONDON COLLECTIONS TOP 20!!!
The top 20 best things at London Collections: Men.
20: BOBBY ABLEY’S BOYS IN A SPACESHIP
Such was the intensity of the London Collections, it was easy to forget that on Monday afternoon we saw a model sat in a spaceship.
The model was put in that spaceship by Bobby Abley, who was making his debut at Lulu’s Fashion East Installations.
Model in a spaceship.
Here’s a model in a spaceship!
19 THE INCREASINGLY CONVINCING WORLD OF LEE ROACH
Most of London’s young designers follow a certain path: MAN show, then NewGen, and then hopefully able to support themselves.
Lee Roach has such confidence about his work, he’s leapfrogged MAN to start showing on his own as a NewGen designer.
Could have been a foolhardy move.
Except Lee is showing he knows what he’s doing.
Creating his own world. One that’s increasingly convincing.
He has a singular vision for the way men should dress.
The next step for Lee has got to be finding the men who will dress in his clothes to become his army.
I hope he finds them.
18 ASTRID ANDERSEN’S AMAZING CRUSHED VELVET
LOVED Astrid Andersen’s final foray on the MAN schedule.
It was like she had a real point to prove – that she could make commercial clothes that deserved a place in stores.
She proved it with her amazing crushed velvets sweattops and trackpants.
17 KIT NEALE’S GREASY SPOON
Next door to Bobby Abley’s spaceships at the Fashion East Installations was a greasy spoon.
Run by Kit Neale.
Am in Florence right now.
Oooh would love a good fry up.
Lovely that he’s moved his prints on, to expand what he’s got on offer.
Am particularly fond of that shiny padded patterned jacket sat on the floor.
Here’s a couple more boys.
Well done Kit.
16 LOU DALTON’S GREAT BIG CLOMPING GRENSON BOOTS
OMG Lou’s boots were amazing.
They were made with Grenson.
Quite often, a show shoe never leaves that context. Most rarely get made.
But I do believe these Lou Dalton/Grenson boots will be going into stores…
